En el año 1981, viendo que nuestro distrito atravesaba una situación difícil económicamente y que ya existían varios tugurios, se nombró un Comité Ejecutivo para que con todos los comités de los grupos organizados se realizara un diagnóstico para detectar y priorizar las necesidades que más afectaban a nuestro pueblo.
Prioridad de proyectos en la actualidad.
1. Construcción del EBAIS Tipo 1 Cipreses
2. Compra de finca y construcción del proyecto de viviendas de interés social.
3. Construcción del Centro de Capacitación, Formación y Recreación para niños, jóvenes y adultos de la zona norte de la provincia de Cartago.
4. Construcción del Parque Recreativo de la Ciudadela Dora Emilia Soto.
